Aerosoles Women's Oasis Sandal

Rippling pleats lend this chic slingback unexpected drama.

I am an avid fan of soft soled shoes for infants. Reason being, is that they provide protection from the harmful rays of the sun, and the blistering cold. All while obtaining the mobility that your child will need, while they are learning to crawl and walk. I have found through trial and error, that a hard sole shoe tends to pose a trip hazard for children when they aren't quite as steady on their feet. My daughter being one of them, as she flew past crawling straight to walking. So, with this in mind we decided to try some soft soled shoes with amazing results. Not only was she toddling around the house in no time, but she wasn't experiencing nearly as many bumps and bruises caused by tripping over the soles of her own shoes.

Soft soled shoes tend to conform to the foot's natural shape, and allow it to articulate as nature intended. Giving your child an extra leg up during this learning process. However, I must admittedly say that after my child became steadier on her feet we did switch to a harder soled shoe. As soft-soles will not provide protection from sharp objects that can be found, on nearly every sidewalk or parking lot.

Now to the aesthetics of things, Soft soled shoes appear to be a cross between a baby bootie, and any old pair of hard soled shoe. They come in an array of colors, and styles which means that it easier to fit into your child's style. Whether it be a more traditional fashion style, or an alternative style such as punk or goth you should be able to find them fairly easily. Some may even don pictures, or cutouts such as butterflies, sports logos, or even band logos.

So, now that you understand why it is important to have your child wearing these soft soled shoes. We will now cover the expected costs. Most parents, like myself are on a tight budget, especially with the economy seemingly in the toilet. However, these soft soled shoes should have you spending little more than, the average person carries in pocket change. Most of these pairs can be obtained for as little as three dollars for a pair of quality soft soled shoes, however if you are set on a designer pair you can spend anywhere to one hundred dollars on these little foot covers.

Show your baby's style by dressing them up in your favorite band's t-shirts and onesies. Whether it's The Ramones, Led Zeppelin or 311, there are punk rock baby clothes as well as organic baby clothes, toddler shirts, maternity apparel and diaper bags available. Other kids clothing and gift items include: Toddler skate shoes, slogan baby clothes, rompers, baby bibs, beanies and soft soled baby shoes.

Side stitches are a common annoying problem in running, especially early in the training process. Here are some helpful tips on avoiding this pain in your side!

My daughter experiences them regularly, early in the season when she is training for summer track. They can take your breath away. My advice is always to "run through them," but often times it has been known to slow her down to a walk or crawl until the pain subsides.

What is this sharp twinge of pain just below the rib cage usually on the right? It is called a "side stitch" or "exercise related transient abdominal pain" (ETAP); and until recently there was no clear and universally explanation for the cause of this annoying cramp. Although not considered a true sports injury, it has been estimated that 70% of regular runners suffered from a side stitch in the last 12 months, that's a big pain in the gut!

Some researchers believe that the side stitch is caused by stretching the ligaments that extend from the diaphragm to the internal organs, particularly the liver. The jarring motion of running while breathing in and out tends to stretch these ligaments. Runners tend to exhale every two or four steps, more frequently when trying to get back into shape. The majority of people exhale as the left foot hits the ground, but some people exhale when the right foot hits the ground. It is this group who seem more prone to get side stitches.

There is greater force on the liver (which is on the right side just below the rib cage) when exhaling while the right foot hits the ground. So, just as the liver is dropping down the diaphragm raises for the exhalation. It is believed this repeated stretching leads to spasms in the diaphragm and this spasm causes your pain. Seems like a good explanation to me, much better than my old coach's explanation, "because you are an out-of-shape wimp!" Other less accepted theories have included: diaphragmatic ischemia, imbalances of the thoracic spine, and irritation of the parietal peritoneum. Whatever the internal cause, there are some simple veteran runners tips that may help avoid or at least diminish this pain.

How do you stop a Side Stitch?

According to leading experts, to stop a side stitch when running, stop running and place your hand into the right side of your belly and push up, lifting the liver slightly. Inhale and exhale evenly as you push up.

Can you prevent a Side Stitch?

To prevent a side stitch, take even, deep breaths while running. Shallow breathing tends to increase the risk of cramping because the diaphragm is always slightly raised and never lowers far enough to allow the ligaments to relax. When this happens the diaphragm becomes stressed and a spasm or "stitch" is more likely. This is why they happen more often when runners are trying to get back into shape after a layoff.

Ten other tips to alleviate or avoid the pain of a side stitch include:

1. Improve your cardiovascular fitness.
2. Warm up properly before you run. Yes, that 5 minute warm-up walk again....
3. Strengthen your core muscles (lower back, abdominal and oblique muscles).
4. Avoid too much, too soon, too fast syndrome (my daughter's problem).
5. Avoid eating one to two hours before a workout. Having food in your stomach during a workout may increase cramping by creating more force on the ligaments.
6. Stretching may relieve and even prevent a cramp. Raise your right arm straight up and lean toward the left. Hold for 30 seconds, release and relax, and then stretch the other side.
7. Slow down your pace until pain lessens, or walk it out.
8. Breathe deeper to stretch the diaphragm when you feel a cramp coming on. Then, breathe slowly out of your mouth with pursed lips; this tends to relax the diaphragm.
9. Drink before exercise; dehydration can increase muscle cramps. An electrolyte sports drink may be even more helpful than just plain water. Avoid any carbonated beverages one to two hours prior to running.
10. Massage or put firm pressure on the area with pain. Bend forward to stretch the diaphragm and ease the pain.

If you continue to experience pain, seek medical attention. A side stitch that lasts more than a few minutes could be early signs of appendicitis (or just simply annoying constipation). Pain radiating into your shoulder, chest or back may even be heart-related.

For most runners, a side-stitch is just a signal to slow down and relax! In my family, it gives my daughter an excuse to skip the end of a grueling workout! Maybe she is the smarter one?!

Finding a good dancewear store is not as easy as it sounds. Some shops are too large and carry too many products making your purchasing decisions difficult. Others are too small and dont carry the brands that you are looking for.

A good dance store should care a variety of dancewear brands such as Mirella, Danskin, Dancerags, and Body Wrappers to name a few. It should also carry pointe shoes such as Bloch, Freed, and Gaynor Minden, jazz and tap shoes including So Danca, Leos, and Bloch, and character shoes by So Danca. Many reputable shops also offer books, videos, and artwork to further entice a customer.

A dance store should have a welcoming appearance whether online or a shop located in your community. There should be a complete line of merchandise and knowledgeable employees. You should be able to find what you need in your size.

It should offer the dancing community the best selection in dance accessories including basic body wear items, dazzling ballet skirts and performance-wear pieces. It should stock items for adults and youth, for women and men, for dance groups and for individuals. If you're looking for leotards for your daughter, a member of a dance troop looking for dancewear, or an individual dancer looking for a dance outfit, you should find what you are looking for by visiting a shop that is stocked with the latest looks, in dancewear at reasonable prices. You can also visit one of several online stores that offer catalogs, online ordering and good customer service.

Dance Wear provides detailed information on Dancewear, Ballet Dancewear, Liturgical Dancewear, Competition Dancewear and more. Dance Wear is affiliated with Salsa Dance Shoes.

Whether you are a sprinter, middle distance, or long distance runner, a properly executed strength training program will be the key to improving your running times.

If youre a runner, you MUST strength train correctly. Running for distance, being aerobic in nature, will begin to break down good muscle tissue. You need a strength training program that will keep the muscle you have, and ultimately to build more muscle, that will carry over to faster running times.

Here are some tips to help you develop a strength training program exclusively for runners.

1. Emphasize Your Running Muscles

You should train all of your muscles thoroughly in any strength training program. The body works as a unit. Never neglect body parts, or favor other body parts simply because you like to train them. Give all of your muscles attention, but emphasize the ones that pertain to your sport the most. The running muscles, in order of importance are: Buttocks, Thighs, Calves, Shoulders, Chest, Back and Arms. When you design a full-body workout for running, try to work the muscles in this same order.

2. Train With Full-Body Workouts

Unless youre a bodybuilder, you should train the full body with each workout. A bodybuilder who is trying to gain a lot of muscle would split their routine in order to work more thoroughly on each body part. An athlete should use strength training as a means to improve sports performance. A full body routine properly addresses the needs of an athlete.

3. Train the Tibialis Anterior

The tibialis anterior is the muscle on the front of the shin. By working on this muscle, you keep a balance with the calves ie. the soleus and gastrocnemius muscles. You need to keep opposing muscles in balance to maximize performance and minimize injuries. The tibialis anterior should also be developed to minimize shin splints. You can perform a foot flexion exercise to work on the T. A. muscle. If youre serious about running and dont have access to a foot flexion machine, Id suggest you get one.

4. Emphasize Your Buttocks Exercise

If you were asked to name the fastest land animals, you might say a cheetah, or an ostrich. The interesting thing about these animals that run so fast, is that they have skinny legs, but very well developed hinds (buttocks). The same with humans. Any runner, sprinter, middle, or long distance, should emphasize exercises that work on the buttocks area. If you have access to a Reverse Hyperextension machine you can work the area directly, with complete safety. If you dont have one, a barbell full squat with work just fine.

5. Strength Train More Intensely Than You Run

When you strength train for running, you must strive to perform a set until you can no longer complete another repetition in perfect form. Obviously, you dont run until you drop. That would be counter-productive, and dangerous. Strength training is completely different and should be treated as such. By strength training a muscle to the point of momentary muscular failure, you set the stage for rapid strength gains in the muscle.

6. Strength Train Slowly To Run Faster

Any strength training exercise should be performed slowly and deliberately. This takes the momentum out of the exercise, and therefore maximizes the amount of muscle fibers that are stimulated. A proper cadence when strength training should be about 2 seconds to lift the weight (when you contract the muscle) and at least 4 seconds to lower the weight (lengthen the muscle).

7. Add Weight or Repetitions Whenever Possible

It is so important for runners to try to add weight to an exercise as often as possible, or keep the weight the same and add repetitions whenever possible. This forces the muscles to adapt by increasing in strength. Runners need to do this because the very nature of frequent long runs catabolizes muscle tissue. Strength training in a progressive fashion will help preserve muscle, and ideally, add more muscle and strength to run faster, longer.

The 'icing on the cake' for your perfect wedding ensemble is the perfect pair of shoes. If you have your heart set on designer wedding shoes but don't know where to find them, this list has been put together to help you get started.

To start your search for a designer dress, the following suggestions might help:

- The first obvious choice would be wedding magazines, although they do not always mention the upper-end designers. They will, however, be a good source for ideas about what you like, and also for local boutique contact information so that you can try and source the higher-end shoes in your area.

- Speaking of boutiques in your area, a good place to start would be to ask them if they either carry or can source the designer shoes of your choice. Even if they do not regularly carry the line, they may be able to order one for you in order to secure your business at their salon. This includes high-end department, shoe stores and boutiques as well, not just wedding stores.

- Take a look online - Google will be helpful - in your quest to find designer shoes you love. Try celebrity wedding sites and look through the various designer's own sites to get a feel for their wedding shoe collections. Many designers will list contact information you can use to help you locate stores which carry their lines.

- eBay and other auction or sale sites may prove useful. Whether you know exactly what you want, or are willing to browse a little, try searching sites like eBay for designer wedding shoes. You may even find some great designer shoes that were not meant specifically for a wedding but would work for you.

- Big cities: If you live somewhere rural, your local access to designer shoes - or designer anything! - may be severely limited. Try making a trip, or at least a few calls, to a large metropolis such as New York or Paris, where you are sure to find what you are looking for. If you are just making calls, the shoes can always be shipped to you in time for your wedding.

Make sure you cover all your bases - AND save the most money possible - with your planning by checking out the Amazing Wedding Planning Guide at Wedding Planning Makes Perfect.

When we talk of Victorian Coats, the first thing that strikes our mind is the straight Regency silhouette for women with exaggerated skirts and sleeves, while the less volatile wasp waist and frock coat for men. The Victorian Era is symbolic to the reign of Queen Victoria, who ruled the United Kingdom from 1837 to 1901. It was in her reign that the Victorian Coats came to be recognized as a possible fashion accessory.

If we take a closer look at the Victorian Coats, there is much detailing to be discussed, especially if we consider the designs of the early dresses. The 1836, Gigot sleeves, which we usually see in the covers of Charles Dickens or Georgette Heir novels, used collapsible sleeves that became much narrower with age but retained a restrictive seam line on the dropped shoulder. Similarly, the body hugging bodice for women was fairly tight around the waist and rather uncomfortable to wear.

The dresses for men were less fashionable and apart from the usual jackets and linen shirts, there was nothing much to be discussed. In the nineteenth century, the advent of neckties and scarves somehow managed to retain the lost valor of men's fashion.

Victorian Coats for kids were a sight worth watching. It would be best to leave the description to the themes of Tom Sawyer, so that people who read this article have an instant picture in mind.

The present day scenario is rather different and there are numerous retail outlets which provide a whole range of apparel which is contemporary, yet inspired from the Victorian Era. For children, it comes in the shape of fancy dress outfits with themes befitting the likes of super heroes, animals, historical ventures, Disney, fairy tale, Halloween and Christmas specials. For adults, it is either a wedding dress or some Christmas shopping.

For this you need to start surfing a lot and get all you need to suit the occasion. It could be for a wedding ceremony, an engagement, a fancy dress party or a Halloween bash. So, all those who like the classy look, might simply want to try one out.

Celtic jewelry like the Celts themselves has a rich history and a proud tradition. Immensely beautiful with intricate Celtic symbols and delicate designs, Celtic cross jewelry, Celtic knot jewelry, and beautiful Claddaugh rings have been admired and desired for thousands of years.

Celtic Cross Jewelry

One of the most enduring, and coveted "gifts" of Celtic culture is jewelry featuring the Celtic Cross. According to Irish legend, St. Patrick created the first Celtic cross by drawing a circle over a Latin cross.

For an Irish Catholic, the circle in the Celtic cross may be a symbol of eternity and the endlessness of God's love. It can even represent a halo emanating from Christ.

Some say the four "arms" of the Celtic Cross represent the elements (fire, earth, air, and water). Others believe the cross denotes the four directions of the compass, and still others feel it is a representation of human existence - mind, body, soul and heart.

Celtic Knots

The most distinguishing characteristic of Celtic knots is their intricate patterns and designand the debate as to the meaning of those designs. While it is unquestionable that many of the ancient designs had some significance, those meanings changed from tribe to tribe and location to location.

Many believe that the intricate looping in knots was a way to keep out evil spirits. It is also generally accepted that the looping Celtic knot design denotes eternity and interconnectedness. Still, there is no definitive guide as to the meaning of Celtic knots which, adds, perhaps to their mystery and appeal.

Claddagh Rings

Named for the town of Claddagh near Galway in which they are said to have originated, Claddagh rings are beloved Celtic symbols of Irish culture and sentiment. Unlike other Celtic symbols, the meaning behind the Claddagh ring is well-documented. The Claddagh design has a heart (symbolizing love) topped by a crown (symbolizing loyalty) held in two hands (signifying friendship). The phrase that is usually associated with the giving of a Claddagh ring is "Let love and friendship reign."

It's not surprise that the Claddagh is a popular marriage band. In Celtic times, it was worn on the right hand with the heart turned outward to show that the wearer is unattached or with the heart turned inward to show he/she was "spoken for." If the Claddagh ring is worn on the left hand with the heart turned inward, it shows that two loves have been joined in marriage.

Celtic Then and Now

At one time, Celtic people could be found throughout Eastern and Central Europe, as well as in the British Isles, where the earliest examples of Celtic jewelry originate. The emergence of the powerful Roman Empire encroached on the lifestyle, traditions, and homeland of the Celts who were forced to move to abandon their homes and relocate in remote areas in Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and Cornwall in southern England.

Despite their hardships at the hands of the Romans, Celts endured, thrivedand continued to produce Celtic jewelry. The tradition has remained strong for centuries. Irish Celtic jewelry and Scottish Celtic jewelry have enjoyed a huge resurgence in their homelands and with "ex-pats" around the world, as people seek to rediscover and celebrate their cultural traditions.

In this day and age where people will go long ways and suffer much discomfort just to be counted among the trendy and fashionable, the Ugg Boot truly stands out as a Pillar against the storm. Originally worn by Australian sheepherders to keep their feet warm, these boots have since 2003, become quite popular in the United States. Such people as Pamela Anderson and Kate Hudson have been known to wear them to keep their feet warm.

Many people would regard these Boots as unfashionable or uncool because the boots look big and odd. Some have even called for a boycott on wearing these boots due to their distaste for its look. Despite all of this, the Ugg boots has been enormously successful and is probably here to stay.

Now, you might ask, why? or how? does a boot that defies all fashion logic stay popular? The answer lies in two simple reasons. First, some people want to stand out from the crowd and differ from the norm. The Ugg boots will definitely make you noticeable in a fashion-conscious crowd. Second, and more importantly, is the fact that these boots are indeed quite comfortable to wear. These boots have been popular with swimmers and surfers since the 1970s and are regularly worn by surfers in California. The design of the boot with its sheepskin results in considerable thermostatic benefits. The boot also boasts fleecy fibers in the interior to allow for air circulation during the summer so your feet to not get overheated. With this combination of warming and cooling, the Ugg boot is the perfect boot for all occasions. Add to this fact that the sheepskin material used to make this boot is generally more comfortable than the standard leather used to make the common boot, and you have a warm and comfortable boot for all seasons.

Despite the comfort reasons, many people will still not wear these boots because of their appearance. But Ugg boots now come in a variety of styles, sizes and colors and can generally be incorporated in any kind of apparel you on wearing. Typically since these boots are usually worn in the winter for thermal insulation, you can wear any kind of Ski wear or even long jeans. In fact any kind of long winter insulated pants will look quite normal and fit perfectly with a pair of matching-color Uggs. If you are still worried about what to wear with them, there are many places online such as the Yahoo Answers Forum which will help you pick out the right apparel to wear with your boots.

So with these fashion concerns answered, there is no reason why you should not join the rush and buy a pair of Ugg boots for this winter.

Visit http://www.centuryinshoes.com/ugg-boots/ today for the latest Uggs.
