
First introduced in 1985, the Nike dunk was designed as a basketball shoe with good ankle support, a low profile sole, and several color schemes designed for top colleges and universities. Re-introduced I 1998, the Dunk has spent the last 10 years both as a functional basketball shoe and as fashionable sneakers. Coming in both low-top and high-top form, dunks can be found that fit anyone's style. High dunk sneakers were designed with side paneling that keeps the ankle well supported during pivoting. Some dunks have very limited releases, where long lines form to purchase a pair and can often fetch a premium price for resale on the internet.
